Uniform

We truly believe that our uniform is more than just a set of clothes. It is a powerful expression of our collective commitment to the school and the values we all uphold. When every student puts on the SHS uniform, it's a visible reminder that we are all on the same team and belong to our wonderful SHS family.

The Importance of Wearing Our Uniform with Pride

When our students are smart in their uniform, it instantly commands respect both within the school and in the wider community. It shows that we are serious about our learning environment and the high expectations we set.

Wearing our uniform with pride, both in school and while travelling to and from school, signifies that our students are signing up to our shared school ethos. This unity helps to:

  • Foster a strong sense of belonging, making every child feel included and valued.

  • Level the playing field, reducing the pressure of competing fashion trends and allowing students to focus on their character and their education.

  • Instil a sense of discipline and purpose, preparing our young people for a structured, successful future.

By supporting our uniform policy, you are helping us create a consistent, focused, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. We are so proud of the way our students represent SHS, and we thank you for being an essential part of our united team.

Our school uniform policy has been significantly updated following student feedback. These changes ensure students feel comfortable and can express their individual style while maintaining a cohesive team identity.

Uniform Items

To ease the financial strain of new clothes, we actively run our 'Re-Loved' Uniform Cupboard. Teenagers grow fast, meaning that many donated items are in excellent, near-new condition. Please ask in the office or your child's Form Tutor to see if we have the item in their size in stock.

If you'd like to support others then please do drop off outgrown uniform including school shoes, at the main reception, and we will handle the washing, ironing, and redistribution to the school community.

Please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly labelled with the students name and kept neat and tidy at all times.
