Welcome to The Stourport High School (fondly known as SHS!) & Sixth Form
As Headteacher, I place tremendous importance on providing the highest standards of education for every child entrusted in our care. It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to our website on behalf of the entire SHS Family. Whether you're considering the exciting next chapter of your child's educational journey with us, or you're interested in joining our dedicated team as a valued member of staff, I invite you to explore the possibilities that lie ahead.
Here at SHS, we envision a future where every child not only thrives academically but also flourishes into a well-rounded individual, ready to embrace the world with confidence and compassion. We truly believe that every single child who walks through our doors arrives with unique gifts. Our goal is to help them flourish, and our 7-year offer is a journey packed with diverse opportunities to help them discover new talents and build on the ones they already have.
"Every child celebrates their own success and the success of others."

Elizabeth Ford
Headteacher
We are proud to lead our school, which serves our town and its surrounding villages as part of the Severn Academies Educational Trust.
This is just a glimpse of our wonderful school; we warmly invite you to visit us to discover the opportunities SHS has to offer.
Our Core Pillars
A School at the Heart of its Community
We're more than just classrooms and textbooks. SHS aims to be a vibrant hub, fostering strong bonds within our community and offering opportunities for growth and shared experiences. We believe in creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued and empowered to contribute their unique voice. Our school is a place where friendships are forged, dreams are nurtured, and lifelong memories are created, lifting children to new heights by exposing them to the possibilities the wider world has to offer.
Building Character for Today and Tomorrow
We believe in developing well-rounded individuals. We actively teach our core values, underpinned by the moral, intellectual, performance and civic virtues, creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to flourish both within school and beyond.
Inclusive Excellence for All
We are committed to providing a fully inclusive comprehensive education that celebrates diversity and empowers every student to reach their full potential. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to shine, regardless of their starting point. Our approach is personalised and collaborative, ensuring each student is challenged and supported. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire, encouraging students to think critically, explore their passions, and develop the skills they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.
We believe that education is a collaborative endeavour, where students, teachers, families, and the wider community work hand-in-hand to create an enriching experience for all.
We're excited for you to become a part of the SHS family!

Year 12 students were a staple part of a charity event run at the Civic in Stourport on Sunday 10th May. The event was in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and the students were tasked with setting up and managing the live sound equipment as well as performing at the event. The learners were superb throughout the whole process and managed themselves with professionalism infront of a sold out crowd. They were part of an event that brought together our Stourport community which resulted in raising around £2500 for the charity.
Last night, we saw our Year 11 student Beau "Bomber" Welsh return to the ring at an event promoted by Mikey's Boxing Gym at Kidderminster Town Hall.
Beau fought superbly and dominated the contest from start to finish against an opponent who has been Midlands champion, and was rightly awarded a Unanimous Decision victory by the judges.
A superb achievement, and a bright future ahead
Well done Beau!🥊
The 50s, 60s, and 70s came to life this week! 🎸🌟
Our wonderful students spent some time at Dunley Hall recently, performing a selection of classics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It was amazing to see the residents singing along and interacting with our learners! 🎤✨
Events like these remind us that a little kindness and respect go a long way in supporting our local community. We are so proud of our students for their determination to make a positive impact!
Calling all former A-Level Science students! 🔬
Have you got any AQA Biology, Chemistry or Physics textbooks gathering dust at home?
We’d love to give them a second life by passing them on to our new Year 12 & 13 students — helping support the next generation of future scientists 🧬✨
If you have any books you’d be happy to donate, please drop them off at main reception.
Your old science books could make a real difference 💡
Thank you!
