Our School Curriculum
We define the curriculum as ‘the lived daily experience of students’, valuing academic learning opportunities.
Beyond the Classroom
We provide a range of opportunities for students to be successful beyond the normal school day.
We pride ourselves on providing clear information and consistent support during the exam series.
The SHS learning environment – where positive behaviour is rewarded and negative behaviour is sanctioned.
In preparation for employment, it is vital students look smart, are well presented and are ready to learn.
School attendance is linked to student outcomes and must aim for high levels of attendance at all times.
Well-being & Safeguarding
At SHS, we promote a culture of keeping our students safe; supported by our student support centre.
Pupil Premium Grant
Students eligible for free school meals receive additional support through the pupil premium grant.
The special educational needs and disabilities of students are met via enhanced provision and support.
SHS Sixth From
Our Sixth Form builds knowledge, character and resilience for successful futures.
Collaborating with BC6 to provide students with a broader curriculum and to share expertise.
The curriculum beyond qualifications promotes positive destinations and journeys for aspirational lives.
