The constitution of the Governing Body of The Stourport High School & VIth Form College is set out in the Instrument of Government as follows. The term of office of each Governor is four years. Co-opted Governors may be appointed for a shorter period, depending on the needs of the Governing Body.
Our Governors ensure clarity and set the vision for the school so that the school works efficiently and effectively towards achieving its vision. It does this by building a thorough knowledge of the school and its community, by both supporting and constructively challenging the school, and by ensuring accountability and compliance. It holds the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the School and its pupils. Our LGB also work in tandem with the Board of Trustees to oversee the financial performance of the school and ensures the expenditure of the school’s monies are monitored at all times.
