Curriculum Vision Statement: PE Makes You ACE
The PE department aims to be at the heart of the wider community, ensuring Physical Education plays a fundamental and positive role in every individual's school experience both now and for the rest of their lives.
Core Knowledge & Skills
-
Sector-Specific Knowledge: Students "know more and do more" by mastering physical disciplines, understanding physiological systems, and learning the mechanics of movement.
PE explicitly maps to Stourport’s core values to nurture the "whole child":
-
Kindness & Respect: Fostered through sportsmanship, officiating, and supporting peers of all abilities to create an inclusive environment.
-
Determination: Cultivated through personal best challenges, competitive fixtures, and the commitment required to lead an active life.
-
Holistic Development: Using sport to build social, moral, and cultural awareness, helping students understand diverse community needs and fostering a sense of belonging.
Extra opportunities
-
Enrichment: Offering a diverse range of extra-curricular clubs and competitive fixtures that inspire students to aspire as global citizens.
-
Community Belonging: Partnering with local sports clubs and PESCO leadership allows students to put their theoretical knowledge and leadership skills into practice.
-
Lifelong Commitment: Inspiring a transition from school-based PE to active participation in the wider community for the rest of their lives.
