Key Stage 5 Curriculum


At Key Stage 5 students choose the academic pathway that will equip them with most relevant qualifications at the highest level to enable them to continue on their chosen trajectory after VIth form.  

  • All of our courses at Key Stage 5 are challenging and rigorous following and extending the awarding bodies’ specifications.
  • Super-curricular opportunities and independent study are prioritised to broaden students’ depth and breadth of understanding and ensure they stand out from their peers in any competitive application process.
  • The timetable for Key Stage 5 comprises of 4 seventy-five minute lessons per day plus a tutor slot which supports students’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development
  • Enrichment opportunities are embedded throughout the timetable to foster future proof skills and maximise possibilities for all students

THE PATHWAYS & COMBINATION OF QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS FOR SEPT 2025 ARE DEPENDENT ON OUTCOMES OF THE GOVERNMENT’S SIXTH FORM REVIEW CURRENTLY UNDERWAY & SUBJECT SPECIALIST AVAILABILITY TO DELIVER THE COURSES.

Courses we offer at Stourport VIth Form


We make great efforts to ensure that you embark on courses that most accurately match your ability, qualifications and aspirations. Typically, students will choose 3 A levels or equivalent which they will study over two years.

You will be expected to resit GCSE English and Mathematics if you do not achieve a grade 4 or above.

Pathways to Success


A-LEVELS

Studying A Levels: Students following an A level pathway will typically study 3 A levels with the additional opportunity to study for the Extended Project Qualification or Level 3 Core Maths Certificate

VOCATIONAL

Studying Level 3 Applied General or Technical qualifications (single, double and triple awards are available).

COMBINATION

Studying a combination of A level and vocational qualifications.
